Don’t know about you guys, but right now I’m feeling pale and gray and gross. To get some glow and colour I’m using this overnight mask from James Read! It gives you just a little bit of bronzy glow and your skin will look moisturised and fresh. I get mine at Åhléns but you can also get it online (like here).
During the winter I usually get quite dry skin. This hand cream makes my hands soft and the smell is amazing. Get it here.
Neon is a trend that will keep on going strong during SS19. And I like it! Adding neon garments/accessories to an all black outfit is an easy way to make it a bit more interesting. The mini-bags are a bit silly but I like them, and it’s a good way to keep yourself from just chucking random shit into your bag (don’t know abut you but I always do this).
Okay, so. Skincare and beauty. It’s a new year and I’m starting a new blog, so why not go through my beauty favourites right now. I’m all about the dewy and glowy look so if you like that, you’ll like these products too. I’ll link all the products in the list in case you want to check them out.
Moisturiser: Kiehl’s Ultra Facial Deep Moisture Balm. This is the best moisturiser I’ve ever tried. Since I live in Sweden wich is constantly cold and had quite dry air, this is perfect for me. It’s very thick and you will feel it on your face, but still goes into the skin beautifully and doesn’t feel sticky.
Toner: The Ordinary Glycolic Acid 7% Toning Solution. Since I suck at exfoliating I try to use a lot of acids and exfoliating elements in my regular skincare. This one promises ”mild exfoliation for improved skin radiance and visible clarity” and is supposed to improve the skins texture with continued use, and for me, it works.
Serums: The Ordinary Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 and Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1%. Hyaluronic Acid helps your skin pick up even more moisture from the air and from the other product you use and it makes my skin look glowy and amazing. The Niacinamide solution helps reduce skin blemishes and regulates sebum.
Mask: The Ordinary AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution. The famous blood mask!! Oh, my, god, this mask you guys. It fucking hurts and I love it. This is not for people with sensitive skin, but for everyone else – get it. It exfoliates the crap out of your face and your skin will look amazing.
And for those who wants to know, this is the order I use it: I start by cleaning my face with a makeup remover (I don’t have a favourite right now which is why I skipped it on the list. Have any tips? Hit me up). After that: toner – serums – moisturiser (if ever in doubt, start with the lightest, end with the heaviest). The ”blood mask” I use once or twice a week and I apply it after the toner and before the serums.
Foundation: The Ordinary Serum Foundation. I’m very picky with foundations so I constantly switch, but right now (in combination with my Kiehl’s moisturiser) I like this one. It’s very light coverage and mostly just evens out the skin tone without covering up stuff like freckles, leaving it slightly dewy and natural-looking.
Concealer: Glossier Stretch Concealer. A medium-coverage concealer for when you have dark circles or a little pimple or two. It has a dewy finish which helps it not looking cake-y. If you use too much it won’t stay put and will need to be set with a powder but a little goes a long way with this one.
Highlighter: IsaDora Glow Drops. I never thought I’d actually like or recommend a highlighter (or anything else for that matter) by IsaDora, but damn! They’ve stepped up their game. It looks amazing, blends easily, doesn’t have any glitter chunks (I hate glitter chunks!!!!) and it’s affordable as fuck. I use the red-ish one wich gives a bit of a bronzing effect as well.
Blush: Glossier Cloud Paint in ”Dawn”. Very pigmented so a little goes a long way with this. Love this colour and I feel like liquid blushers look a bit more natural and lasts longer on my skin. Goes on best with a beauty blender.
Brows: Glossier Boy Brow. Don’t really need to say anything here, do I? I mean who haven’t heard of this by now. Good hold, nice colour and it doesn’t transfer or fall down during the day. If I want really bushy brows, I use the soap trick (tutorial for that here) and then Boy Brow on top.
Eyeshadow: H&M Eyeshadow in ”Canyon Clay”. Very affordable and very pigmented. For me, it stays on pretty much the whole day without primer and it blends well.
Lipstick: Smashbox Be Legendary Matte Lipstick in ”Wrap Party”. I’m not too picky with lipsticks and usually use H&Ms, but this one is really good! Stays on pretty well, and even if it’s matte it’s not as matte as a lot of there lipsticks are right now. I usually apply Vaseline underneath it with gives it a bit of extra sheen.
